GlobeScribe is an AI-powered book translation service built by publishers, for publishers. Simply upload your manuscript in EPUB or DOCX format, select your target language(s), and we’ll deliver a translated version of your book with the original formatting preserved and ready for publication in new markets within hours.

We’re designed for self-published authors, small presses, and independent publishers—but we also support larger clients with bulk translation needs or API access. Our tools were created by a team with deep publishing experience, so whether you manage one book or one thousand, we understand your workflow and quality expectations.

Currently, we support EPUB and DOCX. If you have your manuscript in another format, such as a PDF or MOBI, you can convert it to EPUB or DOCX using free online tools. Please note that converting from print-ready PDFs often produces poor results, especially if the file includes fixed layout elements like headers, footers, and page numbers. If your book is only available as a print-ready PDF, we recommend removing these layout-specific features before uploading to ensure a cleaner, more usable DOCX file is outputted, If you need help with formatting or file conversion, feel free to get in touch—we may be able to assist.

Our standard rate is $100 per book, per language. If you complete three or more translations (in any mix of books or languages), the price is reduced to $80 per book. For projects of 50 titles or more, please contact us for bespoke pricing.

Not at this time. Due to the bespoke nature of each translation, we do not provide free samples—except as part of custom enterprise discussions.

You’ll receive a secure download link by email once the translation is complete. The link will remain active for 7 days, so please download and save your files promptly. If you’ve not received your files within 24 hours, we recommend checking your spam/ junk folder. In the unlikely event that you’ve still not received it, please do send us an email at hello@globescribe.ai and we will be able to assist.

Translations are typically delivered within 24 hours, but often arrive in as little as two hours, depending on file size and queue volume.

This is a machine-generated translation, and although we’re confident the quality will be excellent, we can’t guarantee 100% accuracy in every case. Just as with human translations, occasional mistakes or nuances can slip through. Because each translation is custom- generated, we’re not usually able to offer refunds. However, if there has been a fundamental issue with the output, please do get in touch—we’ll review the case and do our best to help.

We currently support English (British and American), French, Spanish (Castilian), German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Dutch. These languages consistently produce the best results, and we’re continuing to expand as our human quality testers approve additional languages.

While the process is automated, it has been carefully trained and optimised to capture the tone, rhythm, and character voice that are vital to storytelling.

Yes. Our system is trained to prioritise fluency, tone, and character voice—going well beyond literal word-for-word translation. The result is a smooth, readable version of your book that feels native to the target language. While most translations are publish-ready, some authors may choose to have them proofread for peace of mind.

We believe GlobeScribe offers the highest-quality machine translation available for fiction. Our system has been developed in collaboration with professional editors and native- speaking reviewers, and in blind tests, readers often rate our output as equal to—or better than—human translations. That said, no system is perfect. If your book requires perfect accuracy, we recommend having a native-speaking proofreader review the translation before publication.

Yes. GlobeScribe is optimised for fiction, but it also works well for a wide range of non-fiction titles. However, we can’t take responsibility for factual or technical inaccuracies. If your book requires complete precision, particularly in specialised subject areas, we recommend having a native translator or proofreader check the final version.

Our system is not currently able to translate text contained within images, including on your book cover. These elements will remain exactly as they are in your original file—they won’t be removed or altered in any way. If you need translated versions of any embedded text, you’ll need to update those separately.

You do. When you use GlobeScribe, we only access your original manuscript for the purpose of generating the translation. Under UK law, the translated content is assignable, and we pass all rights back to you—you are free to use, publish, and sell it however you wish. You will receive a signed assignment agreement with your translated files. Just note that copyright laws vary by country, so enforcement may differ in some jurisdictions.

Yes. Chapter breaks, italics, headings, and other layout elements are preserved in the translated EPUB or DOCX. Complex formatting (e.g. embedded images or footnotes) generally holds, but we recommend reviewing the final file if your book has special layout needs.

Files are stored on secure servers and are automatically deleted after 14 days. Your manuscript and translations are never shared or used for any other purpose.
